i’m too late for christmas

Posting this too late for Christmas, but I wish you all a happy new year. :)

(So do Heloise and Pavlov, but the baby wendigo would probably just bite you and crawl off somewhere to take a nap.)

To put off writing today, I finally cleaned spider guts off the book I used to kill a spider two weeks ago. So, procrastination, but at least I have my book back. For a while I thought I might just leave it there. That’s a legit life choice when spider guts are involved, right?

In other news, I made an Amazon author page where you can see two pictures of me, one of which I’ve been told looks like a picture of a goth paint smudge (I’ll let you guess which one that is): http://amazon.com/author/eleanorkos

Autobiography of a Flea
by Stanilas de Rhodes

I don’t know that this is a recommendation, but if you have ever wanted to read Victorian erotica written from the point of view of a flea…this is the book for you! It’s here mostly because: (a) It was hilarious, although I admit I haven’t read the whole thing, and (b) I am so amazed and pleased that it even exists. Apparently, there was even a sequel…

Except for The Little Stranger and 30 Days in Lithuania…this is all Nero Wolfe books. I didn’t realize I’d read so many this past month, but I don’t regret it. The Little Stranger is the one I’d recommend though. Just don’t read it right before you go to sleep.

I’m working on two outlines, one a sequel to Songs You Know By Heart, which was in Shousetsu Bang Bang many years ago, so if you read that you might’ve seen it. The other is Krister and Daniel (who you can probably picture as Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy; that’s what I’m doing).

Daniel Gaudet? Daniel Ledet? Opinions welcome. Names are hard.

They meet in France where Daniel is taking photos of an underground fight club. Daniel’s from Louisiana. I’ve been listening to an unhealthy amount of Cajun and zydeco music. I…kind of really like it? Which is sort of a surprise since it was once described to me as country music and jazz having a baby that played the accordion, which didn’t sound that appealing.

(Best rejected name: Hampus Skog.)

The Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat
Damen is a warrior hero to his people, and the rightful heir to the throne of Akielos, but when his half brother seizes power, Damen is captured, stripped of his identity, and sent to serve the prince of an enemy nation as a pleasure slave.

This is probably the best original m/m book I’ve read. It’s a bit of a fantasy novel, a bit of political thriller, has a lot of sex, and you will thank me for recommending it until you get to book two and realize book three isn’t out yet. Then maybe not so much.

I promised you pictures of hippos… Here is Heloise (and Pavlov) and some books. It was going to be them frolicking among the crocuses, but it won’t stop raining. Heloise isn’t much of a frolicker anyway tbh.
